Meyerson & O'Neill is
a general litigation firm with attorneys who have extensive
trial experience in both civil and criminal
cases. For more than 20 years the firm has maintained
a successful and varied practice handling complex
civil and personal injury matters for persons
who have suffered serious and catastrophic injuries
and white collar criminal defense cases.
We provide the level of expertise
expected from a large firm, with a more hands-on
approach from senior attorneys with substantial trial
and litigation experience.
Jack Meyerson, who obtained his J.D.
from Harvard Law School in 1972 and served as a Trial Attorney
with the Department of Justice and as an Assistant United
States Attorney for six years, is well known for his public
corruption prosecutions. Debora O'Neill obtained her J.D.
from Villanova University in 1981 and has extensive experience
in the prosecution and defense of complex civil litigation
including class actions in both state and federal courts.
Pete Greiner, who obtained his J.D. from Villanova University in 1998 and served for five years as an Assistant District Attorney for the City of Philadelphia, brings to the firm extensive trial experience in both criminal and civil litigation.
Our lawyers are committed to providing
the same quality representation as larger firms with particular
attention to personal involvement, client input, and cost-effective
but result-oriented strategy.
Our extensive trial experience in civil
and criminal cases spans a diverse variety of complex areas
including the following:

medical devices
- Corporate fraud and abuse.

The firm's successes include:
- Lifetime financial security for a woman seriously injured by a drunk driver. The establishment that served the driver with alcohol after he was visibly intoxicated was held to be principally liable.

against a physician in a medical malpractice case for failure
to diagnose cancer.
- A $2.2 million verdict in favor
of a Philadelphia sports team trainer injured in an elevator
fall case.
- A $1.5 million settlement with
a life time tax free annuity in a product liability case
involving a defective door lock on a motor vehicle.
- A $3.75 million settlement
of a 260-member racial discrimination class action suit
against a Fortune 500 company.
- Lifetime financial security
and health care for a young woman who suffers a devastating
stroke after taking a dietary supplement containing ephedra.
- One of the largest civil rights
settlements against the City of Philadelphia based upon
an off-duty police officer who shot and killed a civilian.
- An $800,000 settlement for
a woman whose eyesight was permanently damaged during experimental
eye surgery which was not properly reviewed by the FDA or
an IRB (Independent Review Board)
- Substantial settlements in
medical malpractice cases involving obstetrics, such as
a life long annuity for a child born handicapped with shoulder
dystocia and compensation to the family of a stillborn child
following fetal distress.
Many of our cases involve representation
of clients of other lawyers at trial. We often work jointly
with other attorneys in litigation matters that demand courtroom
experience, the ability to manage complex issues and evidence,
or experience with certain types of cases such as wrongful
death and medical and legal malpractice.
We have offices in the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey
and are admitted to practice in both of these states as well
as in federal courts throughout the United States. |
