Emily Mirsky Bio
Experience
Since arriving at Meyerson & O’Neill, Emily Mirsky has worked on complex commercial disputes in federal and state courts involving a wide range of issues, ranging from contract disputes to products liability to corporate fraud. Most recently, Emily assisted in the litigation of a contract dispute between two major competing convenience store chains in Centre County, Pennsylvania, which resulted in a favorable outcome for the client.
After graduating cum laude from Temple University Beasley School of law, Emily began her legal career as a litigation associate at a large Philadelphia law firm, where her practice focused on class action defense of large companies charged with consumer fraud violations and a diverse range of complex commercial business dispute litigation.
Prior to joining Meyerson & O’Neill, Emily litigated hundreds of criminal trials, both jury trials and bench trials, while working as an Assistant Defender at the Defender Association of Philadelphia, defending clients charged with various crimes. She is currently a member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, through which she represents and defends indigent clients charged with federal criminal violations.
Education
Emily graduated from Cornell University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. In 2002, Emily earned her law degree cum laude from Temple University Beasley School of Law. In law school, Emily was a member of the Temple Law Review and also served as Note & Comment Editor. Her law review article, REEVALUATING CRIMINAL DEFENSE TRIAL STRATEGY: WHY DEFENDANTS NEED TO THINK TWICE BEFORE INTRODUCING PRIOR CONVICTIONS ON DIRECT EXAMINATION – Ohler v. United States, 529 U.S. 753 (2000), was published in the Trial Advocacy edition of the Temple Law Review in the Spring of 2001.
